Updates as of April, 2021
Both Peru PADS and Ottawa PADS are fully staffed and open 24 hours a day to assist individuals and families who find themselves in need of services. Lily Pads and Lily Pads Too remain open for business and donations.
- All new shelter guests are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result before being allowed to check into the shelter program.
- Upon entering the program, each new guest is expected to stay in quarantine for five to seven days as a precautionary measure in making sure that someone does not turn positive during their stay. This also ensures that if someone turns positive that we do not expose everyone else in the shelter.
- No COVID-19 positive individuals are allowed to reside at the shelter. The LaSalle County Emergency Management Services and the LaSalle County Health Department have secured alternative housing plans for anyone who turns COVID-19 positive while residing here at the shelters.
- Staff has been trained and volunteers have generously given their time to help us test weekly for COVID-19. All shelter guests are retested for COVID-19 on every Wednesday as a means of ensuring that we do not end up with another outbreak of COVID-19.
